Careers In Applied Economics

Please join me for a discussion on Thursday, November 18 at 5:30 via Zoom with Dr. Elaine Buckberg, Chief Economist at General Motors, to talk about careers in economics.

Dr. Buckberg has had a fabulous career, starting with obtaining her Ph.D. at MIT. At General Motors, she's now responsible for assisting the impact of worldwide economic developments on the corporation, and for providing advice to top leadership on various competitive and economic policy issues.  She also heads long-term forecasting of auto segments and vehicles as well as industry analysis and serves on General Motors' Finance Risk Committee.
