Tomas Williams is an Associate Professor of Economics and International Affairs and Director of the Center for Economic Research at George Washington University. He is also affiliated with the Institute for International Economic Policy. His research focuses on the intersection of global capital markets and sovereign debt, with particular emphasis on how investor behavior shapes financial markets, borrowing costs, and macroeconomic outcomes. His work has been published in leading economics and finance journals and has informed policy discussions at central banks and international organizations. He holds a degree in Economics from Universidad del CEMA in Buenos Aires and a Ph.D. in Economics and Finance from Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
