Chris Sleet is a professor of economics at George Washington University.

Prior to joining GWU, he received a BA from Cambridge, an MSc from the London School of Economics and a Ph.D. from Stanford, all in economics. He was previously faculty at Carnegie Mellon, where he was head of economics from 2014-2019, and at the University of Rochester. He has been an associate editor at the Journal of Monetary Economics and Quantitative Economics and is a member of the Carnegie-Rochester-NYU conference board.

His research is at the intersection of public and macroeconomics. It focuses on tax and fiscal policy design. He has published in leading economics journals, such  the American Economic Review,  Econometrica and the Review of Economic Studies.
