Registration
Fall 2026 Classes
- March 23, 2026 to August 25, 2026
During this time, GWeb registration and Waitlists are BOTH active.
- All registration related requests will be handled online via the Registration Google Form, where you will be able to fill out and upload an RTF Form. The Google Form will open on March 23, 2026 and close end of business day on August 25, 2026.
- The only circumstances for which an RTF Form will be signed are:
- You need to repeat an ECON course for credit.
- You are using a course taken outside GW to satisfy pre-requisite requirement for an ECON course. In this case, you will be prompted to attach evidence of course completion (e.g. transcript) and the signed Undergraduate Transfer Credit Approval form. Prerequisites must be completed before RTF Forms can be signed, so please do not fill out the Registration Google Form until you have completed your course.
- You are attempting to satisfy pre-requisite requirement for an ECON course with study abroad courses you are currently taking. In this case, you will be prompted to upload your CATS approval for the prerequisite course and an unofficial transcript indicating you are enrolled in the course.
- You will use an AP Score as a prerequisite for ECON 1011. In this case, you will be prompted to attach your AP Score Report in order to bypass the required proctored ALEKS Placement Test.
- You matriculated at GW prior to F2023 and will use an unproctored ALEKS score to enroll in ECON 1001 or 1011.
- Students can email the Director of Undergraduate Studies (econadvising
gwu [dot] edu (econadvising[at]gwu[dot]edu)) with inquiries, but any requests for signatures would have to go through the Registration Google Form. Requests will be processed in the order they are received. RTFs will be signed electronically and emailed directly to the student or the student’s advising office for processing. - Please allow at least 3 business days for responses (possibly longer during peak pre-registration period). Response times may vary during the summer months, as the Registration Google Form will be monitored less frequently.
- RTFs will only be signed by the Director of Undergraduate Studies. Course instructors will not sign RTFs. If a course is closed, the RTF does not guarantee enrollment, it only puts the student on the digital waitlist.
- August 26, 2026 to September 6, 2026
During this time, GWeb registration is active and the waitlist is cleared.
- If you need to enroll in a course with an RTF Form, please email the Director of Undergraduate Studies (econadvising
gwu [dot] edu (econadvising[at]gwu[dot]edu)) and state your reasons for needing an RTF to enroll. The Director of Undergraduate Studies will review your request and notify you whether an RTF can be processed. During this time, signatures for RTF forms are contingent upon two things:
(1) The instructor needs to email the Director of Undergraduate Studies (econadvising
gwu [dot] edu (econadvising[at]gwu[dot]edu)) directly (and cc you) stating that they are willing to add you over the stated course cap.(2) There is sufficient space in the physical classroom to accommodate an additional student. This is so no building and fire codes are violated by surpassing the determined room capacity.
- Students can still continuously monitor GWeb to see if a seat opens up in a full course they are looking to join.
- If you need to enroll in a course with an RTF Form, please email the Director of Undergraduate Studies (econadvising
- After September 6, 2026
During this time, GWeb registration is no longer active.
- If you are requesting late enrollment into a course, please contact the instructor first. If the course still has open seats AND the instructor grants you permission, the instructor needs to email the Director of Undergraduate Studies (econadvising
gwu [dot] edu (econadvising[at]gwu[dot]edu)) directly (and cc you) stating that you can enroll. You will then submit a completed RTF Form to the Director of Undergraduate Studies for signature. - Instructors only grant permission for late enrollment in rare cases, and would not be allowed to go over stated course cap. No RTFs will be signed for full courses. Students have until September 20, 2026 to add a course with an RTF form.
