Meet the Director of Undergraduate Studies:
Professor Pao-Lin Tien!
Professor Tien has been at GW since 2017 and teaches macroeconomics at the introductory and intermediate levels. She received her Ph.D. in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis, and earned her B.A. in Mathematics-Economics from Wesleyan University. Prior to GW, Professor Tien worked as a research economist at the Bureau of Economic Analysis, and was Assistant Professor at Wesleyan University.
The Economics Department Director of Undergraduate Studies (DUS) is available to answer any questions regarding the undergraduate economics program. There are three ways to contact the DUS:

For the Fall semester (August 22 - December 10), in person office hours are on Mondays from 2:00 - 3:00 PM in Monroe 307.
3) Sign Up for a Virtual Appointment
The hours for virtual appointments for the Fall semester (August 22 - December 10) vary weekly, so please sign up via Calendly.
If there is no availability on Calendly, please check back as hours are updated weekly and there may be last minute cancellations. Please be courteous to other students and book a single time slot only and remember to keep your appointment or cancel if your plans change.
